Because it may not be and therefore it will affect this review. The straps are probably supposed to be thicker than that. The trapezoid stitching inside may be a sign of a counterfeit carrier as well.

http://www.babieseatbraincells.com/2012/11/how-to-spot-fake-ergo-ergobaby-carrier.html

Thank you for your side by side comparison. If you don't like the feel of a lot of padding, you'd probably like the Ergo better than the Tula.

Another carrier I've been curious to try, but haven't had the chance yet, is the new Boba air. It looks super cool because it's made of super lightweight nylon, and folds up into a tiny little pouch. It doesn't look like it has any padding, and it's been getting great reviews, so maybe it would be a good option for you. You can order it from Target.com (it'll ship for free) and if you don't like it you can just return it at any Target for free :) Please let me know how you like it if you do end up trying it.

Good luck, and happy babywearing! The Happy Hippie Homemakerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15295870137469493783noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7794822866721062898.post-11376108219722168682015-04-07T08:40:37.956-07:002015-04-07T08:40:37.956-07:00Hi there, love your blog! When my baby no longer wanted to be wrapped I use a friend's Infantino and honestly loved how thin the shoulder straps were. I don't know, I just really liked the overall feel of the simple Infantino. But we just outgrew the size of it at 10 months. I am trying a friends Ergo at the moment and seriously think I'd rather have a Tula but have never tried one. I really love the look an idea of a Tula. Here is my concern though, it looks like the shoulder strap are very thick on the Tula and also you mentioned the waistband being longer than on the Ergo. Am I correct in that thinking? I am 5'6" and about 120lbs. Breastfeeding and my high metabolism keep me small except when pregnant! Would the Tula have too much extra waistband for me? And exactly how thick do the shoulder strap feel? Do you think a person my size would feel they are too bulky? Thanks so much for your help!Lesahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04891012828597976263noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7794822866721062898.post-46623143381601448032015-03-05T15:56:34.258-08:002015-03-05T15:56:34.258-08:00Sorry for the delayed response Jessica, I would sa...Sorry for the delayed response Jessica, I would say go for the toddler carrier because if she's tall her legs will probably be long enough to span the width of the seat.
